Dr. Ali Fromme has been our vet for the past 5 years. I don’t think of Dr. Ali as a vet that is only there when we have an emergency, but she is our guide, consultant, and partner in caring for our 18 horses. She is always a text or phone call away and when needed, she is here within minutes. Dr. Ali is an educator to our team and an advisor during decisions. I always see her as our friend. Dr. Ali is smart and talented. I have seen her in emergency situations and her calmness and quick action brought us comfort. I trust Dr. Ali with all of our beloved horses. This is a journey and I am glad that she is on it with us.

Dr. Ali was born and raised in Minnesota, though her family has roots in Northern Kentucky and Indiana going back several generations. She graduated with both her Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University. After graduation, she completed an internship at the world-renowned Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, furthering her skills in areas such as lameness evaluations and internal medicine. After her internship, she worked alongside her uncle and founder of River Valley Equine Services, Dr. Kurt Fromme, until his retirement in 2022. Outside of work, Dr. Ali enjoys fishing, doing CrossFit, and trying her hand at cooking new recipes.

Meet the Team
Rowena was born and raised in England on a Thoroughbred stud farm. She is a second generation horsewoman as her father was a well-known Bloodstock agent. After coming to America in 1977, she has had her own success in the industry, becoming a stakes-winning Thoroughbred trainer! She has been training for the past 18 years and is based out of Turfway Park in Florence. Rowena is a vital part of the River Valley team and has been involved in the company for over 20 years! Outside of work, she has a son, Tyler, who is in graduate school at the University of Kentucky. She enjoys fishing, hunting, reading, and photography.
